Branksome Park is a renowned Conservation Area and one of the most exclusive residential enclaves of the Poole conurbation. The Avenue is one of Branksome Park’s principal roads and was home to some of the areas finest mansions and villas during the early twentieth century. One of the main attractions of the location is the Blue Flag beach at Branksome Chine which lays at the foot of Canford Cliffs is a mere 350m away from the property.
Mandalay was constructed approximately 25 years ago for the present owner to a most individual and striking design in grounds of around half an acre.
Of particular note is the exceptional galleried reception hall, which is octagonal in shape and features a solid teak floor as well as sweeping staircase with matching teak treads, hand rail and balustrade. Much of the joinery throughout the house is also constructed from teak including doors, skirtings and architraves.
The drawing room is also octagonal and connects directly with the Reception Hall as well as the Sitting and Dining Rooms.
Mandalay boasts four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The octagonal theme is echoed in the master bedroom suite which also enjoys ensuite dressing and bathroom facilities.
All of the ground floor windows are equipped with integral security shutters; two electronically controlled and the remainder manually operated.
The grounds are, in our opinion, beautifully presented and an undoubted feature. The rear garden has a unique focal point in the form of a Chinese style pavilion complete with lighting, electricity points and a seating area. Other areas include a vegetable garden and green house with other landscape features adorning the side and front gardens.
Mandalay occupies a prominent position and is approached via an elevated driveway leading to an attached double garage.
